As Manager, Clinical Nutrition, you will manage, plan, and provide coordination, supervision, and training and staff development for clinical staff. You will develop standards and monitor clinical dietetic performance. Be responsible for coordinating the provision of medical nutrition therapy and nutrition care to all patients utilizing technical skills in an acute care, skilled nursing, and/or outpatient setting.



Additionally, you will provide clinical assessment, screening for nutritional risk, developing, implementing, and monitoring a nutrition care plan, education, and follow-up. Play an integral role in providing service to patients of all ages from pediatrics to geriatrics. Additionally, you will ensure compliance to JCAHO Standards, Title XXII, and other applicable regulatory requirements and demonstrate age-specific care as established for area and job title.





Full-time Manager position (80 hours per pay period). Responsible for 3 sites and time will be split between these sites (Scripps La Jolla, Scripps Encinitas and Scripps Green Hospitals).


Job Requirements


Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food/Nutrition Science or related field.
  • Three (3) years experience in an acute-care, sub-acute or skilled-nursing setting, one (1) of which in a leadership role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, complex problem solving, team development, strategic planning and systems planning/development.
  • Knowledge of medical/scientific terminology with ability to communicate technical/clinical aspects of department.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of information systems and knowledge of computer word processing and spread sheets.
  • Proficiency in JCAHO, Title XXII, HACCP, Food Code and other applicable regulatory requirements with ability to translate into practice.



Required Certification/Registration:
  • Registered Dietitian through the Commission of Dietetic Registration.
  • Member of at least one Professional Organization such as the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition.



Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

  • Master's degree and/or management experience preferred.
  • Five years clinical experience, at least one of which in management.
  • Specialty certification (CNSC, CDE, CSR, CSG, Adult Weight Management)
