As Director of Hospital and Professional Billing Coding,
  • You will oversee system wide coding service operations ensuring accurate and timely management of all uncoded accounts.
  • You'll monitor education, productivity, and quality consistent with coding practices complaint with Scripps optimized practices.
  • Be responsible for current compliance activities, identifying areas of high risk, and evaluating risk factors in coding and documentation practices.
  • In partnership with appropriate personnel, develop and implement standardized, organization-wide coding guidelines and documentation requirements and develop and implement training and educational programs for physicians and coders
  • Play an integral role in overseeing all regulatory changes for coding and reimbursement and communicates those changes to all coding staff.

 
This is a Full Time - Salaried - Leadership position located in Rancho Bernardo.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare field.
  • Minimum 5 years direct supervision of hospital coding.
  • ICD10 coding experience.
  • Hospital billing and professional billing experience required.
Required Certification/Registration:
  • RHIA, or RHIT, CCS credentialed.
  • Epic coding module certification.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • Master's degree.
