We are seeking a compassionate, motivated Social Worker to join our team at Scripps Green Hospital located in the beautiful Torrey Pines area.  Scripps Green Hospital is conveniently located right off I-5 near the Genesee Avenue exit.  Our Scripps healthcare professionals care for people from a number of communities including Bird Rock, La Jolla Shores, Mount Soledad, University City and beyond.  Our diverse team is dedicated to serving the community with the highest quality of care.
The Clinical Social Worker - Acute Oncology/Hematology at Scripps provides an important role within the hospital by assisting patient and families with personal and environmental problems which predispose illness or which interfere with their obtaining maximum benefits from medical care. Provides peer supervision for other staff, education for social work interns and/or assists with program planning and organization of services. Demonstrates ability to perform competencies as outlined in unit specific competency assessment tools. Demonstrates age specific care as established for a Clinical Social Worker in assigned area. 
This is a Full Time, 8 hour day shift position located at the Scripps Green Hospital in the La Jolla Torrey Pines area. (80 hours per bi-weekly pay period). Candidate must be flexible on schedule and be willing to work weekends and holidays.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications: 
  • Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited University/College
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider American Heart Association
  • Working knowledge of the laws, regulations, policies and appeal procedures as relative to the Federal, State and other reimbursement programs
  • Must be able to display good working relationships with patients, families, medical and nursing personnel, and all others employed at the hospital
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Oncology, Hematology and/or BMT experience in an Acute Care Hospital setting
  • LCSW (Licensed by the State of CA Behavioral Science Examiners Board)
  • Acute Care discharge planning experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including but not limited to Outlook, Excel
