This is the ideal position for a Chief Medical Physicist with leadership skills to collaborate with Scripps MD Anderson Cancer Center physicians and leadership in all aspects of the operations and planning of the physics services.
In collaboration with Scripps Leadership and Scripps MD Anderson Cancer Center physicians, you will direct, coordinate and participate in all aspects of operations and planning of the physics services for the system. You will be responsible to lead a group of physicists and dosimetrists in standardization of treatment planning, quality assurance, and radiation safety. You will participate in quality assurance program reporting, testing of radiation therapy equipment, chart reviews, treatment planning assistance, and development of new programs. In collaboration with Operations Managers, you will oversee all aspects of medical physics and dosimetrists needs on a day-to-day basis. Be responsible and accountable for developing, implementing, and monitoring standards and performance improvement activities.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • MSC in Medical Biophysics/Radiological Physics.
  • Accuracy in all technical/clerical duties, proven successful constant public contact and co-worker courtesy.
  • Manipulation of numbers and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership skills and significant clinical experience are required.
  • Proven experience in the clinical commissioning process as well as in operational experience.

Required Certification/Registration:
  • American Board of Radiological Physics in Therapeutic Radiological Physics.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • Board-certified PhD preferred.
