As Assistant Director, Family Medicine, you will be responsible for assisting Program Director with training of house staff and medical students in Family Medicine and Obstetrics. You will participate in the department planning and operations to ensure compliance with the standards of the ACGME and JCAHO, and DHS regulations. Play an integral role in precepting residents in Family Medicine Center (Community Clinic Setting).

Additionally, you will provide inpatient teaching to residents on Family Medicine Services. Teach and deliver quality patient care including full-spectrum family practice, prenatal and intrapartum care. Scholarly activities include participation in core lecture series and opportunities for community based research.

This is a Full Time, Salaried position located at Scripps Mercy Chula Vista.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine from an LCME-accredited medical school, or Degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from an AOA-accredited school.
  • Residency-trained in Family Medicine.
  • Experience in full spectrum of Family Medicine including inpatient and obstetrics.
  • Minimum three years experience as clinical faculty in a Family Medicine Program.
  • Experience and interest in diverse populations.
Required Certification/Registration:
  • Board Certified in Family Medicine.
  • Licensed in the State of California.
  • Member of Medical Staff of Scripps Memorial Hospital Chula Vista (to be achieved prior to hire date).
Preferred Experience:

  • Family Medicine including inpatient and Obstetrics experience highly preferred.
